Ms Carmel O'Kane

A cancer nurse since 1995 Carmel managed the Peninsula Health Cancer Service until 2011 when she accepted a position as a Nurse Practitioner Candidate in the Wimmera. Carmel completed a Masters of Nursing and was endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner in 2012. Carmel is now working in an innovative Cancer Nurse Practitioner role across 3 rural health Services, providing education, support and clinical excellence in cancer care to Wimmera Region. Carmel has a particular interest in patient decision making, as well as Rural Cancer Nurse education and mentoring of others interested in the Cancer Nurse Practitioner Role.
Carmel is the Vice President of CNSA and also the current Chair of the CNSA Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
